Simplicity is the New Complexity!

AGreen24’s avatar was simple, but effective as it had different shapes, colors, and symbols. In more detail, there was an upside down leaf and white dots above the leaf. The color on the top was black, the middle was green, and the two different colors on the bottom are light brown and dark brown. These elements are what create her avatar to its glory, however what the main things I want to discuss are the leaf, the color black, and the white dots, and how similar and different it is to mine.

The leaf in AGreen24’s avatar symbolizes the affinity for the season fall. She put it in the center to show the gravity of how much she likes it, and when I asked beforehand, “Why?” she said “I like fall the most out of the four seasons.” Knowing this, we can infer that she used elements she personally likes, which holds true in my previous hypothesis. In my avatar however, I used the earth as a serious thing I love or care about, which is somewhat of a similar approach when it comes to our symbolic choices.

Another element she told me was about the white dots, which I gladly inquired about due to my sheer curiosity. “The circles represent string lights” she told me, and I was a bit confused due to it clearly being white dots. However, the water has cleared and she told me that it was vice-versa. Moving on, I believe that the avatar she was trying to express was of sheer randomness. To prove this she said she liked fall, but randomly added string lights without telling me if she liked or didn’t like them. I did the same thing with my avatar, the symbol being an expensive pencil as I enjoy high-quality writing utensils.

The last element that she explained to me was the color black above the upside down leaf. She said “I choose black because my cat’s black.” Nothing else contributed to that choice besides that her cat being black, which infers that her elements are arbitrary, making the ruling of the string lights more or less elements around her when she was gestating the idea of her avatar. Speaking of arbitrary, my background of the avatar is blue, and the reason is that I just like the color blue even though its not mentioned. So me and AGreen24’s avatar are on the same boat with complete randomness.
