More Than What it seems

What is graffiti ? I believe that graffiti is art. Graffiti was in the past never thought of due to how it was made using a person’s property, but it is a type of art that over the years has taken its place in the world and should be considered for what it is . It mesmerizes and expands what art is and what it represents “The messages have also evolved”(pg 3) art is something that should expand graffiti is the type of art that isn’t held down it is art in its purest form .

Art is a way of visioning someone else’s perspective . The thing about art is that it is a creation, it is something that was made for people to connect with in a different way. “When an area has extensive graffiti, people tend to view it as a “bad neighborhood.”(pg 4)” this quote represents how people see graffiti but why do they see it this way graffiti shouldn’t be a reason for something to be bad, it should be something that brings people together graffiti is art and should be considered art graffiti is changing “Like all other artistic forms, graffiti has experienced movements or changes in style.”(pg 3) This quote shows that graffiti is a type of art because it changes and evolves as time moves on . Pedestrians think it is incorrect because it is a different way of presenting and looking at art “Graffiti has always been somewhat political, but it has come a long way from simply tagging one’s name to parodying world leaders to make a statement.”(pg 3) This quote shows how graffiti has changed and expanded over the years.  There is no reason that art should be shamed upon people who express themselves in different ways, for example “George C. Stowers wrote that based on aesthetic criteria, graffiti has to be considered an art form”(pg 3)which shows that not everyone sees graffiti as a crime; they see it for what it truly is, an art that should be shared with the world. There are worse things that could be done than painting on the side of a building.

So as you can see graffiti is art it is unique and in its own way is a form of art it represents people. even though many people frown on it there is a lot of good things to look at in the art of graffiti it is a very creative way of showing art.
