Are Self-Driving Cars Really The Best Idea?

2024 and beyond is the future. He have basic miniature phones for watches, artificial intelligence is like having your own Jarvis from Iron man comics, and we also have self driving cars. There are many cars that have been coming out of the years using senors in the front of back of some cars to have automatic breaking for distracted drivers. So a few companies decided why they can’t use senors and prior knowledge from things like google maps to have a vehicle drive itself and passengers to their destination.

One of the first things of when I think about being in a self driving car is if I have any control over the vehicle. It is a scary idea being inside of a self driving car due to the fact you do not know how the system works how it reads the lines or if the sensors get messed up and theirs a possibility of it going of the line. The way to make it even scarier think about if you can’t take control of the car. You could get into a car crash and be horribly maimed if you can not get control of a self driving car that starts to pull on to the wrong side of the road because it doesn’t know where is if it gets damaged.

Although the idea and some of the self driving cars is interesting. I mean the idea of it is amazing, just the thought that we could be in a car that knows where it is going and that it can transport you with easy instead of the stress of driving. Yes it would make people lazier but at the same time it gives you more time to do work while on the transport to your house or your place of work. It really puts the perspective of being in the future there it is just an amazing thing to imagine that you see these movies about the future a lot of them having self driving cars making us feel like we are advancing into that future that we have seen on the big screens many times.

But that same thought process can push you to think about those movies about the future. If you think about it a lot of future movies show the world becoming more dangerous or that everything is controlled by robots and humans just exist making it so there is no use for humans in the world making them lazy and beyond dumb giving them the inability to do anyting. If you have ever seen the movie idiocracy the people in the movie are very low in IQ that in the future because of computers doing everything for them they are very dumb. So dumb in fact that a person with a average IQ from the past is found to be a genuis in that time even simple tasks like gardening they learn you have to use water on crops which is something people learn in elementry. The people in the movie have advancements that do things for them making them feel as though they don’t have the need to learn anything if technology is doing everything for you. The “idiots” in the movie or “future people” have self-driving cars it helped them become lazier and dumber taking out the need to learn road rules. We already have gotten lazier with things like rumba’s cleaning our floors and alexas being able to tell us almost anything and being able to control every element of electronics in your house. People can hack into those what happens when someone gets upset and has the ability to hack into your self-driving car and crashes it into a pole like in the newest child’s play movie.

In conclusion Self-Driving cars are an interesting and good idea if done right but if it is done very half hazardly and there is not much time and effort put into the car and is not very secure for people to access easily it can be a very dangerous and scary thing. It is also not a good idea due to the fact that people will get lazier as time goes on with self-driving cars. I don’t think anyone wants to become the people in chairs from Wall-E just over weight and unable to do anything themselves.
