With the cellular device becoming more technologically advanced and more reliable within the past 20 years texting is the better option. Though both texting and calling has benefits and weaknesses. Starting out as to why texting is more suitable is people forget what they need to say and texting helps them not forget and gives them time to figure out what you want to say. A disadvantage for texting is the response time, we’ve all had people who have sent you a text but when you respond in a reasonable amount of time they leave you on delivered for 6 hours. another advantage to texting is Sms texting doesn’t require internet!
Calling is still a very reliable method of conversing, with many reasons for choosing to call people instead of texting, such as response, tone, and urgency. When you are texting it is hard to leave the conversation where whereas calling you can audible give a southern goodbye and both parties will understand and mutually end the call. also when you are calling the conversation flows until somebody ends, no waiting for someone to answer a text. another advantage is when someone is calling people are more likely to answer a phone call as opposed to a text. Some disadvantages are people find calling irritating when people don’t pick up, and people talk for a long time, and if you want to end the call it becomes tenacious. which is why I believe texting is better than calling. Although I prefer texts I believe that as an adult you need the ability to call somebody because in the working world it is more professional. As a teen, I believe that texting doesn’t hurt but I do believe as they grow up they need to be able to call and be professional in whatever plane of work they enter.
