Summer Shenanigans

The summer of 2023 is when most of my laughable memories were made, I was living with my best friends Skyler, Nevaeh, and Elijah. We shared countless sleepless nights filled with laughter and stupidity.

One night in mid July around midnight, Elijah, known to do idiotic funny things, had the bright idea to wear Skyler’s CATC hard hat and charge headfirst into the wall. While we didn’t want to wake Jess and Gerald, Skyler’s parents, because it was late, we all knew what Elijah was about to do was going to be comical. We continued to tell him it’s not the best idea, but we couldn’t convince him. He had it in his mind and there was no stopping him. Nevaeh and Skyler moved the stuff on the floor out of the way and moved to the bed and to make room for Elijah. I was sitting on the couch behind him trying to talk him out of doing it, I even tried to grab him and pull him down on the couch while also saying, “Elijah don’t. It’s late, you’re going to wake up Jess and Gerald.” This did not work, Elijah got back up and before he could even regain his balance, he stupidly ran headfirst into Skyler’s chair and went flying into the wall. It made a loud bang and we all started laughing hysterically. I thought to myself, “that was dumb,” but it was still hilarious and very memorable.

The unfolding of this happened all within 20 minutes, while it was not something that lasted all night, it made the moment so much more memorable as it was an impulsive quick thought of idea. After, Elijah said that the voices in his head won and he just had to do it, this resulted in a short-lived group chat ‘the voices’ referencing Elijah”s impulsive decisions. In the morning, Skyler’s mom asked what the loud noise was from last night and we all said we didn’t know what had made the noise. Over the summer there were many funny memories just like this that will be cherished forever and we will all hold onto. To this day we still talk about all the fun memories we made and laugh at them.
