Calling or texting?

Which do you prefer more, Texting or calling? There are advantages and disadvatages for both so lets dig into it! nowadays there is so much you can do with calling and texting, the technolgy has changed so much over time and so many advances have been created. Like for example with texting it takes .5 seconds to send someone a text and you don’t have to worry about how many texts you send anymore because you no longer have to pay for every text you send. Calling, you are able to facetime someone now which allows you to talk to them and see them. With facetime you can do so much with the other person like for example playing games with them, listen to music together and so much more.

I often gravitate towards calling/facetiming because I want to see the face of the person I am talking to and with text sometimes the tone can come off wrong but on facetime/call you can understand their tone of what they are saying so much easier. I do know some people who don’t like talking on the phone for their own reasons and others like me prefer calling, it just depends on the person. I do still love texting so for me I prefer both texting and calling. Boys and girls also have sepreate numbers on what they prefer, “Teenage girls are more likely to text and call their friends every day than boys, according to texting vs talking statistics. Namely, 62% of girls text, and 21% call their friends every day, while 48% and 18% of the boys do the same daily.”(Nikolovska,2023) As this quote provides is teenage girls are more prone to texting and calling than teenage boys which ultimately as a teenage girl does not take me by surprise at all.

“71% of adults would rather call and only 26% would rather text.”(Nikolovska,2023) I do text and call a lot and when its something special and big for me I would rather share that over the phone to see the persons reaction to what happened, it makes it feel like I am telling them in person even though I really am just telling them over the phone. Another age group which happens to be teenagers, most prefer texting and I quote, “Moreover, 55% of them say they text with their friends every day, while only 19% talk to them on the phone on a daily basis.”(Nikolovska,2023). Being a teenager myself texting throughout the day mostly while at school is a lot and even though my prefered of calling I do still text a lot throughout the days.

In my conclusion from all this information, Do you prefer texting or calling? Its a hard choice for some but easy for others and mostly it is on your personal preference. Nobody can tell you with this on what to like more. In the comments tell me what you prefer, calling or texting.
