What is Better? Calling or Texting?

What are the differences between texting and calling? Texting and calling are two separate things therefore are typically used for different things. Texting is typically more laid back and less professional. Usually you use texting to communicate with friends and family to talk about normal everyday things. Calling typically is used for more important things. Like if you need to get a message to someone quickly you would call them. So in this essay I will go over some of the pros and cons of both to see how they compare.
There are both pros and cons of calling somebody over texting them. Some of the pros of calling someone is that it is more formal. An example of this is that it’s a great tool to use in the workplace. I used to work for L.L.Bean and everytime my schedule would change or they needed extra help they would call me to tell me. Another pro is when you call someone you can use tone to show emotion just like in a real face to face conversation. When it comes to the cons of calling there are not many I can think of but one good example is that it takes up time. Usually if you get a phone call you have to step away from what you are doing to take time to answer the call. This shows that there are both goods and bads to calling
When it comes to texting there are also many pros and cons. One pro is that texting has to be the most basic form of communication. For example you can use abbreviations with incorrect punctuation and no one will ever care. Also texting is very quick. Rarely will you have to stop what you’re doing to type something out and send it. With every good there is a bad though and that is that texting has no emotion. You can’t hear their tone of voice or see their body language. This makes texting not so great for trying to relay important messages.
Calling and texting both have their place in everyday life. You just have to use the right tool for that job. If you look at how formal/serious something is or how laid back you can figure out what’s right in that situation. There are pros and cons to both but both are equally great inventions.
