Texting and calling both have their advantages and disadvantages. I think calling is better than texting. When calling you get the real emotions through tone of voice. When texting you have no idea how someone feels unless they directly tell you through text because you can’t be sarcastic over text or be sassy over text. Over the phone, you can be sassy and sarcastic without saying you are being sassy or sarcastic like you would over text. advantages of texting are, being able to say something super quick without having to call someone and bother them if they are busy, texting someone a reminder that they will see when they got on their phone because it’s not as important for you to call. Texting is better for talking when you don’t feel like talking.
Texting doesn’t work the best when someone texts you “Are you mad at me?”. Saying “no” or “I’m not” because you can now show emotion and could just be brushing it off and in this situation, it is so much better because you can truly hear the emotions in their voice and tell if they are lying.
Texting is the best when just asking a simple question like “When is dinner?” or “What are we having for dinner?” simple questions just like that are so much quicker and easier than calling because you don’t need to hear emotions in their voice.
In the end, I like calling someone better and hearing their true emotions. Don’t get me wrong–texting is nice when I’m asking a simple question but more times than not I want to hear the true emotions in someone’s voice.
