Skilled soccer

DHatala is a skilled and talented teenager who enjoys playing sports, hanging out with his friends, and going on outdoor adventures with his family and classmates. When D isn’t playing his favorite sports he is watching them on the television or going to games to watch other people play. D is skilled at climbing mountains and overcoming any outdoor obstacle he comes across. He really enjoys spending time with his close friends, especially his foreign exchange student  that his family had last school year.  

When he was asked by the teacher to create an avatar about either himself or someone else he chose himself because it was easier to describe for him. He then followed the assignment and wrote down things that meant something to him in any kind of way, these things included soccer, hiking, the weather, seasons, and many other things that describe him.  When I look at the avatar he created, the symbol that stands out most is the soccer ball that is located in the center “ I drew the ball because it symbolizes the joy that soccer brings me.”  D plays soccer daily on many different teams with tons of people and different coaches. These include both travel teams, soccer groups, playing with his friends and family, and the school team. D has played this sport since he was young and wants to continue playing through college and his future.  He made many different avatars but especially picked this one because of the soccer ball and all of his memories behind it. 

When D made this final decision on the avatar he picked yellow and blue as the two background colors which stand for hot and cold. The colors mean that in the yellow months he can play soccer outdoors for school and in his other leagues and during the blue he is limited to only indoor travel, ” When I made my avatar I wasn’t sure why I picked the colors I did but then I thought about it more and noticed that It symbolizes hot and cold which changes a lot for me especially with sports.” He also did four lines which created triangles that stand for the mountains he climbs and the seasons he climbed them in “ I drew the four lines mainly because I liked the design and then it made triangles which reminded me of the memories I have of me and my friends hiking.” His intent when creating this was to have it mainly about his favorite sport and then the things that he does in his free time but looking at his avatar the triangles are a hidden symbol that doesn’t stand out directly.  

I was also assigned the same assignment but did it completely differently. I used flowers, my favorite colors, and fish because those are all things I enjoy most even though I also did soccer. Our avatars look completely different but in a good way, it shows how different we are as people and how different our lives are from each other. Although ours are very different and I didn’t understand the background at first, I enjoyed learning more about him and what he enjoys.
