Mvattaso25’s avatar represents a landscape. There are three mountains in the background, the leftmost having snow on the top. The sun is setting in the background, with two birds in the blue sky, which mvattaso says are “mostly to fill in the blank space.” On the ground, a path can be seen, splitting near the middle with one path going to the right side of the screen with the other disappearing into the mountains. On the very left side of the avatar, there is a pond at the base of a mountain.

Each aspect of this landscape contributes to the scene as a whole, but some of these elements have deeper meanings than just being aesthetically pleasing. For example, the pond on the left represents not only water, but also swimming, which she enjoys.

The most important aspect of this avatar is the mountain range, as they represent many different things. The snow on top of the left mountain represents mvattaso’s love of skiing, while the entire mountain range and path both represent hiking. They also bear a resemblance to mountains in Utah, which mvattaso finds beautiful. She went on a trip with her family and “loved them ever since.”

The sun in behind the mountains is another focal point of the avatar. It represents daytime, much like it does in real life. It definitely grabs the viewer’s attention due to it’s bright color, especially in contrast with the darker colors of the sky and the mountains. It also directs your eyes downward towards the mountains, and even further to the grassy field with the path running through it, which works in tandem with the mountains to further represent hiking. The path splits near the middle of the design, with one path going off the canvas to the right and the other “disappearing into the mountains.”

The process I used to create my avatar was quite different. The main difference is the fact that my design takes a much more abstract, geometrical approach while mvattaso’s is very natural and shows realistic scenery. We both, however, worked to ensure that each element of our avatars fit with each other nicely to create a balanced design.

In conclusion, mvattaso’s design effectively conveys the idea of a landscape, while also including some elements with more subtle meanings, each portraying a different aspect of their personality.
