Duke Ellington once stated “A problem is a chance for you to do your best.” I agree with this statement and think that it is a good point of view on life and the future.
In my experience with problems, I have found that looking at how it impacts your future is an amazing way to overcome that current struggle. For example I went up to a completely separate school for what I thought to be my own improvement. During this time there were many struggles with sleep, school work, and socialization. The issues with sleep were continuous and made it difficult for me to be productive, and efficient. The school workload was overwhelming and seemed impossible some days. The last major issue is the fact that I had to find a balance with work, sleep, friends, and myself. After a few months there were just so many problems and issues with the new school which made it so that I had to find an alternative to my education. I ended up going back to Oak Hill and continuing my learning there where it was more motivated. The experience in a whole taught me to look for the good in what I have and not take what I do have for advantage. Going away and looking for more in myself, really helped me understand that where I strive the most was at my own home. This part of my life showed me my strengths, my weaknesses and what to do with both of them.
In conclusion, I agree with Duke Ellington in every way. I think that it is important to grow from your problems and struggles, whether they impact you mentally, physically, or emotionally. In order to improve your point of view not only of the world itself, but how you view yourself too. Problems strengthen us and our mental capabilities, and need to be seen as lessons and not downfalls
