Patience

One day my parents decided to get my little brother (Beckett) started in hockey (which I play) and what my job was to do was to teach him. If you are not patience with the people you are trying to teach there is no way that they can learn that’s why this is important to me. This came with many difficulties because he has never tried hockey before so what I did was I got him a bucket and I started to push him. My brother is a little 5 year-old who thinks he can do what he wants and has lots of attitude but looks sweet on the outside. He was getting scared but I told him to stay focused and to not give up, but he said I hate this sport I’m done. I responded by saying Beckett can’t give up until you at least try for 30 minutes (more like 10 minutes) . So we went back out onto the rink, and I pushed him again, this time he was super happy so I let him go.

Hockey is a big thing for my life and my family’s that’s why he has been wanting to play his whole life so I had to have patience for him to want to play. After he was crying on the ice because he had fell and wasn’t going fast enough, I had to stay calm without saying just skate because he doesn’t know how to I told him put one skate out front of the other and just walk which isn’t what he did but he was little and just learning so I let it off. After he told me to give him some advice even though I already did, the thing that I did was show him how I did it and then boom he listened to me because I didn’t give up on him. I kept on helping him out to be a good skater and it challenged my patience and I passed. Beckett said ” He hates to learn new things” so I had to have patience.

Next patience plays a huge role in your life (I learnt the hard way) . If you don’t have it, you can’t do things like teaching people how to learn something new like when I thought my brother. A reason why I chose to write about my brother is to show how much patience that I had to have not just for me but for my parents as well. You have to adapt to the way that they think and learn. Patience was a huge thing in the climax of my essay because if I didn’t have any patience for him it would have ended when he said that he was done with hockey. I helped him out by showing that you can’t be good at everything and to try something new. Lastly the main thing about the essay is being patience with people when you are trying to teach them how to do things.
