Having two people that work together well is hard to have but this very pair of high school girls work together one being myself and a friend of mine. Two people that work well together or mesh well together can get a lot of work done when it is needed. It’s important to have key elements in each and every partnership/friendships. A mutual relationship, compromise respect for one another and much more. A productive relationship can help in getting a long list of things completely done by the time limit and/or getting an assignment completed. Those key elements alone can create an inseperable partnership or simply a pairing of people that can help get work was done that needs to be done and over with. Once you find the person you can get these elements with you can be in the position my friend and I were in while helping one another productively keep reading on to hear about how our partnership worked out for us.
The struggle for a passing grade in English is different for everyone some people it is super easy others very difficult. The case for me was that I have a difficult time completing work from the begin with and add the time it would take to complete the work. To get the work to a point where I am more than passing and exceeding the standard. I try to have everything done as well as I can, but sometimes I need help from a friend or a teacher or anyone for that matter. I just needed someone patient and kind enough to work with me and help me meet my criteria. Luckily for me, I had a friend that noticed I was in need. She offered to come with me to the library every day till I stopped needing it. Also, as of today, she still does follow me to the library she had started halfway through the semester and she will finish out the semester with me.
She then asked me what I needed to work on. So I told her there were a few assignments. I made a list that included 3 essays one practice and 2 others Membean (which is a vocabulary service used by Oak Hill High School) then several blog posts including this one. Then I asked her if there was anything I could do to help her with. Also if she wanted my help or needed my help with work she had backed up. She gladly accepted the help I offered. Which I was quite thankful for, I wanted to pay her back for the time she took out of her study hall to help me get through my struggling with the recent assignments. We worked for several study halls together for two weeks total making it take five study halls total to attempt at getting the work done or even remotely close to done.
Finally, I had gotten a lot of the work done and it was much more than I usually do on a regular basis. It allowed me to get the work turned in or to the point where I could edit it on my own and make it closer to my own writing while using the skills she had taught me including the skills I knew about and the skills I didn’t. She had decided, to reteach me skills that I had already learned in class that I hadn’t quite understand. She helped me relearn the writing skills than to put them all to use as I continue to complete throughout English four. She also taught me ways to remind myself to complete important assignments that were due soon or even when they were very late. Though I worked through a lot of work I still had late work. I had to work very hard to get through all the information. That I had and that was potentially missing from my writing pieces.
Things started to get tense as we worked together. She and I took short breaks along the journey so we found ways to lighten the mood by joking around about things I wrote in my assignments. Also, we worked through each issue and concerns. I went through and also experienced trying to meet expectations. The jokes and laughter were to lighten the mood and make it easier to complete the assignments. She and I used the jokes and laughter to push through everything and to comb through all the information quicker. It also helped us move through each assignment quickly, easily and carefully.
She and I stayed on task and we worked well together as we completed work helping each one another. She is amazing for helping me and I appreciated everything she did to help. So it was my turn to repay the favor. I helped her with an important assignment that she needed to complete that I did well on for English. We took a while to do it but bit by bit the assignment was completed over several class periods and study halls. The assignments did quite well, and we worked through it all thoroughly to earn the grades we both earned. That is when I helped a friend and a friend helped me. Everyone shows their appreciation for things in different ways
I paid my friend back by helping her with the missing work that I had already completed before her and received a passing grade on. I had felt confident with those assignments and I felt ready to help her with them and all of them. She and I worked for 3 days and then went on to do other things in the study hall. We from time to time would ask each other questions about other English assignments and slowly start to complete other assignments including math and science.
She and I work well together and we mesh well together. When together we can do anything like superheroes who can work together no matter what.

I love this so much and can connect with it so well! English 4 has not been a great year for completing my assignments ( on time or at all ) so I totally hear you on that part! Using laughter to enlighten the mood during this time that some of us dread so much is an amazing opportunity. Study buddies are the best!
Amazing story! I can completely agree with you English has not gone my way in all of my school career let alone senior year. But even with the struggles and the tears of trying to get things done you always have to look for the good things you are getting out of it and you helped me realize that. Everyone needs help on their English assignments here and there.
This is extremely relate able! I myself am finding that it is extremely difficult to work through this year and without having a friend to guide me through it it’s difficult, I completely understand where you’re coming from! It’s awesome that you do have a friend that was able to help you get through English as well as make it an enjoyable journey. I enjoyed reading about your experience, and I’m a tiny bit envious of you for having a friend like that. Lightening the mood was definitely a good idea and as long as you’re having fun doing your work it’ll fly by like a breeze!
