I’ve made so many mistakes in my life, too many to count, but this one is probably my worst mistake ever and I’ll never forget it. It was 2 summers ago, and I had just got my license. My mom had gotten a new truck right around the same time and she said I could take it to my friend’s fire. I’m all excited and I left to go there and everything was great.Once I got to the fire everything was normal and we were all having a good time. I stayed there till right around 12:30 in the morning. I finally left and started to head home. Then I remembered I was in a brand new truck and it was super late so there were no cars on the road. I decided I was going to see how fast this truck was.
When I decided to do this, I was in the middle of nowhere, on a long stretch of road so I thought “who cares if I speed”. Well apparently the police officer sitting on the side of the road about two miles ahead did. I didn’t see him until I flew past him and he turned his lights on and came after me. He pulled me over and I was panicking because I had only had my license for about 2 months. He came up to the window and did the usual things like say “do you know why I pulled you over?” and of course being me I said no. He told me I was doing 96 in a 45. Before he could say anything else, a car came flying past us probably going as fast, if not faster, than I was. He then said, “It’s your f****** lucky day” and ran back to his car and took off.
In conclusion, Don’t be stupid and speed like that. If you get pulled over doing more than 30 mph over the speed limit, you are probably going to lose your license, possibly even get jail time. That was one of the worst mistakes I’ve ever made.

Wow, very scary story there. How lucky of you to have someone else speed by the cop and you that night. Interesting to see that a cop will let you go if someone else speeds by. I don’t blame you, some of those long stretches are asking you to hit 100 mph on them, but safety comes first. Maybe you could’ve gone into depth a little more about how you were feeling and address the restrictions you have where you aren’t aloud to drive after midnight, but overall it is a great story!
after reading this post I was very interested to me because i have been in this same situation. where you know you did something wrong and don’t wanna admit it to and officer. It is a tight spot because you do not want to admit what you did wrong. over all I think this is well written and interesting to me
