I was in the eighth grade when I first met Coach Wright, it was springtime and I was trying to get ready for my freshman year of football. I was a skinny short kid who would have been eaten alive playing high school football as freshmen. I was looking for some type of edge so I wouldn’t exactly be thrown around like a rag doll. The weight room was all new to me I had never exactly worked out until that point. My first time going I was extremely scared I had no clue what I was getting into and I was actually scared of the monstrous size of Coach Wright. Like anyone though Coach showed me how to do basic exercises and to make sure I was doing them correct and safe. I felt good about what I was doing and knew it was good for me and would help me become a better football player. Coach would continue to teach me basic exercises the more I went and would help me get stronger so I could do complex exercises. After the first two months of me going to the weight room I had really fallen in love with it. It was something new and exciting and something that really became a regular thing. In those two months of me going almost every day I had begun to notice the progression that I was taking. Working out throughout the summer and having Coach Wright teach me more complex exercises and pushing me through all of it. I was noticing some changes but fast forward a year to me going into my sophomore year I noticed the most changes.I had been working out for about year until that point I had learned a lot from that year. Through FLiP that Coach had been teaching, I had also a better idea on what exercises to do on what days how to do them correctly. I started to notice changes in body and Coach still thought there could be room for improvement. Coach would always me have to work on the little things. Correcting me when I needed to keep my back straight and when to keep my feet straight during exercises. Coach would always have me doing something new or trying new weights and make suggestions on how I can do better while working out. Without Coach Wright I really don’t know how I could worked out or fell in love with the improvements behind it throughout my football career. I will forever be grateful by thing he taught me not from the weight room but from real life as well. The weight room learning experiences and the life experiences will last with me for a lifetime. I don’t think I could think any other person who motivated me and pushed me then Coach. For that I’m forever grateful glad I had the opportunity to meet coach so he could teach me many lessons throughout high school.
