To the class of 2019 and the classes to come and go take in the moments that life brings. Learn from the lessons that High School has taught many of us in life. And I believe it has provided me with the things that I need to get a well education. It has brought many different things into our lives that we wouldn’t get anywhere else. It has shaped us in ways, getting us ready for the upcoming trek we have ahead of us. Whether it’s college or anything in between.
High school has provided sports into my life and my teammates lives, which has also given us the advantage to learn many different valuable life lessons. Sports also kept my physical body in shape, and has given me an interest in keeping a wellcare of the different components of my body, avoiding any injuries. Of course you want to make sure you have strong, tolerable physical components, but there are more than just physical components to your body. I have learned it is important to stay aware of your mental health over anything. It is important to keep your body healthy, sure, but lacking a healthy mind is like a controller with no one to control it. It’s useless. Try reducing stressors in your life and doing the things that make you happy. Maybe that looks like you staying on top of the work that you have to do more, or whether it’s making a little more time for yourself, or time for family. It’s important to see your family and spend quality time with them. Do the things that are going to make you happy in life though. Keep the people that care about you and that are important to you close. Make the best decisions for you and your well being. To be the best person you can.
Sports and High school in general has also brought many different people into my life that has made an impact on the person that I am today. I believe the answer would be the same for you. I think my interest that school sports has always had on me drove me to make more friends. I have became close with a lot of the guys that I put the most effort in with to come out with something great. Everyone working as a unit. Or whether you connected more with someone like your biology teacher or your advisor or just one of your classmates, maybe even some kid you played against in a football game. Maybe everything in between. I know I can say for myself I have met countless different people that have made impacts in all of those areas. I will never forget the memories I have made with my classmates throughout my school years. I have met a lot of quality people and got to make friends with a lot of people. And I believe I have made some of those friends that will last a lifetime. My teachers have always taught me what I needed in class to pass and become a more knowledgeable person. I’ll be forever thankful for the teachers who have helped guide me along the right way and to become a good person inside and outside the classroom.
There are some things in high school you’ll just never forget. I can already feel the nostalgia of the variety of aromas high school has introduced to my senses, that I really hope aren’t anywhere else. Remember that one time it smelled like somebody took a dump on the floor and rubbed it up and down the hall but it was just one of those stink bombs. It was awful. It took the janitors what seemed like weeks to get rid of that awful wrench out of the floors. But nonetheless it did come out alas. This is just one classic example to be prepared for everything. You never know what life’s gonna throw at you or what you’ll have to be prepared for. Make sure you’re always on your toes so you don’t get punched in the face by anything like that wretched odor. Remember to hold on to these little things in life. The things you’ll be able to tell your kids and look back on with your buddies from high school when we’re all old and rich.
High school is all lessons, take it all as something to learn from. But don’t forget the memories that you make. Because sooner than you think it’ll all just be a memory. Hold on to those small things. The things you can look back on. High school has had a great impact on my life overall and my future life outside of this brown shack in the woods. I have been able to take the classes I need to prepare me for what I want to study in college. And I can continue playing Lacrosse next year as well. I believe I have taken all the lessons from high school and have taken them well. I have made many many memories that I’ll never forget. Those are the things you need to hold on to. Cherish. Reflect and learn from those to make yourself a happier person overall. The memories is something you don’t want to look back on and wish you made more. Enjoy the moments in life. And put the quality effort into things you want to reflect yourself.
I used a metaphor in the first paragraph saying, “getting us ready for the upcoming trek we have ahead of us.” I was referring to how high school has been testing us and teaching us all the things we’re going to need for real life, life. “Getting us ready”, the upcoming trek is the workforce you’re going into the the subject you want to continue studying in college. Maybe you’re getting ready for pro sports. I used this to kind of mix things up, I kind of list things off and I threw in something complicated almost. So it wasn’t so boring. Gave the audience, you guys a different perspective maybe on your upcoming life. In the second I use a simile saying, “lacking a healthy mind is like a controller with no one to control it.” I use this to show you guys what it’s like to not take care of your mental health. It may not be to that extreme, but you can cripple yourself just with your own depression or worries. I use a bit of imagery in the fourth paragraph when I say, “Remember that one time it smelled like somebody took a dump on the floor and rubbed it up and down the hall but it was just one of those stink bombs.” To maybe jolt your guy’s memories of what it smelled like. I also use a metaphor when I say, “it took the janitors what seemed like weeks..” talking about getting the awful smell out of the loors. I exaggerate to show how torturing it was to experience that. I use symbolism and imagery to referring to the high school saying it prepared me for life outside of this, “brown shack in the woods.” It keeps things kind of light and funny. Try to switch it up a little from saying high school all the time.

True words. It is still hard to believe that it is already time for us to head out of here. It feels as though we just arrived honestly. But in all honesty I’m glad that we are all going to be moving on because I know that everyone here will make the world a better place.
I like how you connect your healthy mind like a controller that puts a clear picture on things, it a good descriptive piece.
