Well, we finally made to the end of the senior year. It has been four years since coming to this school and we finally get to leave. High School had its ups and downs. It was filled good and bad days. But it also taught me many things throughout the years being stuck in this place. Now the Top 10 things I have learned from High School are:
1. DO NOT Stress about the little things- Through the years of high school I have always been stress out about something. It could been for the smallest thing like is it a red day or remembering to get membean done. I was always in a worried state of ¨I still have to finish that test and also that paper¨. High schools has taught me not to stress about the little things and to slow down when working on assignments.
2. Procrastination- Just let me be clear. Do not procrastinate. It is the worst thing you could ever do. I learned that freshman year of high school. It started to become the end of a semester and I told myself ¨there time to finish the flip summative¨. Then with the snap of a finger there was only one week left until the end of the semester. The good news is that I passed Flip that year. The bad news is that I took my time on getting work done.
3. Friendship- Friendship is important for high school. They are there for you when you having a hard time during school. They listen to you when complaining about a school assignment or that your sister is home from college. They helped me through the terrible times of membean. Having a group of friends helped me get through high school.
4. Taking Opportunities- During my junior year I took the Medical Science class from LRTC. This was a big opportunity for me. During that year I got CPR and First Aid certified. It also guide me into a nursing career and taught me what it would be like to be a nurse. If I did not sign up for LTRC I probably would not know today what I was going to college for.
5. Time- Time always seem to do the opposite of you want it to do. When you want time to go faster it goes slower. Then you want time to go slower but it goes faster. That is what it has felt like throughout my time in high school. At the beginning of the year it would go by so slow that it felt like we were stuck in traffic the whole time. Then all of sudden the end of the semester comes and time just sped up out of nowhere. High School has taught me how to manage my time. What needs to get done and when I can have my free time.
6. Not Giving Up- I learn this outside of school by playing sports. It was my Junior year playing tennis and not ever having a full time spot on varsity last year I got put in singles. It was the end of the world. I was just going to give up, so I did not get my hopes up. Then I went into my first singles match and actually won the first match of the season. That year I continued tennis and never gave up until the match was over. Not giving up has taught me that I can achieve things that I thought would be impossible.
7. Keeping Track- During the beginning of my high school career I would always have a hard time keeping track of work that needed to get done or what I have gotten done. I finally learned Junior year to write down a list of things that needed to get done. Then cross them out when I finish them. Keeping track of what you need to know is important so you do not forget about your job interview.
8. Change- Things and people change over the years. It does not matter if you do not want it to change, it just does. It’s like the air sweeps around and changes the things all round you. Do not try to fight change because it is just going to change anyway and you can´t change it back.
9. Try something new- During High school I tried something new. It was tennis. I never played tennis before and it turns out it is a pretty fun sport. If you know the rules of the game. Trying something new also means meeting new people and making new friends.
10. Studying- The last and final thing I learned is to study for test or quiz. It does not matter what it is for. Just study and you will do so much better in classes. Also there a good chance you will not have to take the test over again.
