My little brother Landon is kind of a wreck when it comes to thinking things through, he is always putting himself in situations that he could have easily avoided. I’m willing to tell many stories about how he could have bettered his situation but didn’t and went through a bunch of tribulations.
He’s very different from me in many aspects, like he is so in love with snowmobiles and dirt bikes and stuff like that and I am not very into those things. One winter he drove his sled to my best friend’s house Alex, which is also his best friend’s house. It was probably 11 o’clock at night and he is only wearing his sweatshirt and I don’t even think he was wearing a helmet. On his way over he crashes his sled and gets it stuck out in the middle of basically nowhere in the middle of the night. I was asleep by this time so I couldn’t be of much help to him so he has to call Alex and ask him to pick him up. Alex helped him get out of the snowbank which was probably very frustrating because he hates it when things just don’t work and I bet that happened a lot when they were trying to get Landon’s snowmobile unstuck. They spent probably 2 or 3 hours trying to get my brothers snowmobile unstuck and able to get back to our house. Alex had to bring like this little tool kit to help him get out which was not that useful. They had to cut down little trees with like a tiny saw that is like 4 inches long, maybe less. then they had to get it back onto the trail which was a struggle as well since Landon sent it flying into the woods. Then after they got it unstuck he had to drive it home. He did this entire thing in basically no clothes. Once he gets home he explains the situation to me and I was stunned by how dumb he could possible be. He wasn’t paying attention to the trails and literally just forgot to turn and went straight into the woods at like 40 mph. He said that he was thrown off of his sled and landed in some soft snow and said he was fine but he hurt his head a little bit. he also hurt the sled a lot, he broke basically the entire top half of it, it was all bent and just not in good shape. I made sure that he was okay but after that I definitely scolded him for being so dangerous and that he should be more careful. If he had just thought about what was happening for maybe 1 minute he would have been able to avoid this entire situation, and not only that but if he had dressed correctly he would have been a lot more comfortable and not in complete misery.
He has learned very little from this situation, except he always wears a helmet now, not a jacket or anything like that though. Then there are many times where my brother has broke vehicles just because he doesn’t think things through. I don’t know how he is like this because I’m very careful with things and my brother is the complete opposite. Like one time I was riding passenger with Alex and we just watch as my brother climbs a hill with the sled and then he jumps off it and it rolls down the hill. Alex and I just watch him run down the hill, trip like a cartoon person and basically dive down the hill, then land basically face first right into the snow right besides his flipped over sled. It was probably one of the funniest things that I have ever witnessed Landon doing. He was in his natural habitat of doing dumb things and looking hilarious land. Like writing this now I had to be quiet because I was so close to laughing. If only he thought about some things before doing them itโs unbelievable that he puts himself through so much of these problems.
Same thing happens to him when it comes to his dirt bike as well, his dirt bike was broken every other week from him just not being a good driver. The chain would snap all the time and then he would blame it on the chain being a piece of junk and not the fact that he’s not very careful when he’s driving it. He would try and do wheelies and stuff like that all the time, but he couldn’t so he would just crash and something would brake and whenever this would happen I had to drive it all the way down to our uncles house because he’s really good at fixing theses kind of things because he’s a mechanic. I had to drive down there probably at least 10 times and it’s at least a 40 minute drive there. I was not happy about doing this for my little brother breaking his own dirt bike. 10 times over. I really do wish that he would stop being an absolute meat head and think things through. (Meat head is an insult basically calling him stupid).
In all of these situations it would have been super easy if he just would take a minute and think about what he was doing but instead he has to wast a bunch of time and money on fixing all his toys and not only just his time but my time as well which is very frustrating for me but he doesn’t care. These are only a very few amount of stories, there are so many other things I could talk about but these are the best for this. He has definitely changed from last year though he definitely thinks things out a lot better and is a lot more careful with the things that he has. He has only crashed his sled once this year compared to the 15 times that he had last winter. I think he has finally realized what he was doing and how much of a strain he was putting on a lot of other people not just himself. He has started to think about what he’s doing and question his actions before he just goes off and does something stupid. Alex has definitely helped him a lot for this change because Alex always thinks things through and weighs the pros and cons of his actions and Landon is with him 4 out of the 7 days in the week.

I found this story to be really funny but annoying for Landon and Alex at the same time because I know both them very well and can see Landon doing this. I can also see him doing this again after making the mistake once. I like the format of the story too because how you ordered what you talked about, how you told us first about how Landon is always not thinking about what he is doing and then does something he didn’t think about again.
I absolute love the way you write your stories because I can hear you reading them in my own head, which is a very good estimate to your writing style. When I read “meat head” in the story I could hear the emphasis you put on it as if you are sitting next to me reading it aloud. Great story Brady always love reading about Landon’s misfortunes. ๐
I thought that the way you wrote this told the stories very well and even made me laugh reading it when I already knew what was going to happen. I also thought that you had a great use of imagery throughout this post and it allowed me to read it the same way that it happened in real life!
This is such a funny and not funny at the same time post because It is funny about how many times it seems he has crashed or anything like that but at the same time how it is dangerous. I am just wondering how he could keep doing it and not figure out it is unsafe. Overall it was easy to follow and understand!
