Unknown Athleticism

All my life I have been an active kid, ever since I was able to walk I have been active in sports, if I had to guess. I started off playing basketball and soccer I still play basketball now, but I stopped playing soccer because I didn’t like the coach I had. So when I stopped playing soccer I was bored because basketball only goes on for about three months a year, So I needed something else to do to fill in my time. So I started getting into Trampoline tricking and trying to learn from watching YouTube videos on tutorials for tricks and flips and stuff.

I started off with watching a back flip tutorial. This was the first flip I ever attempted during my flipping journey . I watched videos all day trying to figure out the best way to learn safely. I went outside on my trampoline and attempted it after hours of not committing to the flip. I finally decided to be confident and just send it and out of nowhere I did it and landed right on my feet. After I learned this trick I was so happy and amazed on how I just taught myself how to do a flip with no help just tutorials. It was so unexpected because I woke up that morning not even expecting to attempt a flip then out of nowhere a few hours later I landed it. After this I started practicing everyday and I eventually got better and better, its crazy on how unexpected this was I didn’t think that practicing flipping would take me anywhere.I then got the confidence to try it on the ground using matts, I landed it using matts after a lot of practice. After that I decided to take it to the ground where I got really nervous. I had been studying the tutorials for this trick for a long time, but I was still really nervous. It took me some time, but I got the confidence to go for it and I landed it on the first try.

And after I landed the back flip on the ground I had built up a ton of confidence because I went from not even knowing how to do one on the trampoline to being able to do it on the ground. I got so much confidence in myself that I decided to keep practicing my tricking skills, and try to learn some different flips and see if I could be serious in acrobatics. I started studying flips from tutorials and I ended up learning how to do a back flip, side flip, gainer, and a front flip. This was an unexpected result for me because I didn’t think watching a tutorial on how to do a back flip on a trampoline would take me this far in acrobatics.

This is an unexpected result for me because I went outside for one day and started practicing flips not expecting it to be anything big, and now it turned out to be one of my biggest hobbies. This unexpected result relates to a movie called The Karate Kid. This connects to my unexpected flipping experience because in the movie The kid was hurt during the fight and he got up and did this crazy unexpected martial arts flip and won the fight. This was cool to connect to because it was unexpected just like my back flip.

This was a great story because it showed work and determination to meet a end goal. Flips look cool and all credit to you because I would not do so well if I tried it. That movie is a great comparison, because the outcome was so unexpected.

This was a really story! I really enjoyed the fact that you easily learned how to do flips right off the bat just after watching tutorials. When it comes down to it, attempting to do something, wanting to do something, or something unexpected happening that you might’ve not known you could do, it’s all about mind over matter. A way I relate to your story is whenever I workout sometimes I surprise myself by no matter how tired I am I still may life more, and or may have more energy than I thought I did or even could.

This was a really interesting story. I never realized that you put so much work into learning how to do the flips. as long as I have known you, you have always been able to just do them whenever anybody asked you to or you just wanted to. I’m glad that you were able to push past the fears you had and just go for it. that is something I ,myself don’t think I could ever do.

This was a great post! I had so much fun do flips with you, learning how to do new ones every month. We practice and practiced. It has all payed off in the end because it’s like second hand nature to us now. It just takes confidents thats all once you know one flip you pretty much know them all. I hope we can have a flip session soon.

Good post! I really liked how you showed your process on how you came to doing trampoline tricks and flips. I liked how you also figured out a hidden talent to help build a hobby that you enjoy.
