Hulk, And Thor

Growing up as a young kid, I didn’t have many friends that I ever got close too. I had always seen these friendships where the kids would have sleepovers, and go to the movies, and as a middle school kid that’s all I wanted. It was also hard at this time cause you didn’t really know anyone new because of they where all the same kids you have been going to school with for years. It seemed pretty far fetched to find that best friend until one day I joined the boy scouts. My parents put me in it so I could socialize a little more, and learn some valuable life lessons, and skills. On my first day there I saw people I recognized from school. so at least I was familiar. As a boy scout, we were required as a troop to do a lot of community service. Not only did it help the community, but it built chemistry, and friendship among us. It was not until a few weeks until I had my first conversation with a kid with a sense of humor back in 2011. I knew he played football, and that was about it I had never really talked to him. In all honesty, he probably had a solid opinion on me too. We instantly realized we had similarities, we were both into sports, and playing games on our iPod. Over the next coming months, we started 5th grade and got put in the same class. Every day we sat with each other at lunch and in the classes. We even convinced each other to play rec basketball. I had finally found a best friend to hang out with, even outside of school we would go to our sister’s games, and toss a football, or have sleepovers and stay up way later than we were supposed to. The early stages of that friendship branched from just being kids, but as we got older there is no other person Id rather have to listen to a stupid rant, or help me get through the rough times in my life No matter the bad decisions I’ve made in my life he never left, as much as sometimes he would’ve been stupid not too. As I’m writing this as a senior in high school, I can’t believe how long it been since the days of being a scout.

He and I have always been huge fans of Marvel, and that’s just one more thing that has always been there. I would compare our friendship with Thor and Hulk. Thor’s sole purpose is too always protect his people and close friends. Thor also is a very likable person, who can talk to anyone. Hulk, on the other hand, is a raging monster who has a lot of problems as the hulk, but a genuine misunderstood person in his human form. Thor and Hulk in the early Avengers movies have a love-hate relationship, and almost seem young, and dumb but you know they always have each other back. They have many scenes where they fight because one of them disagrees with the other’s opinions. In Thor’s last movie Hulk is captured and used as a fighter in an arena after being brainwashed. In me, and Matt’s relationship this is equal o me falling into fake friends, and girls that I put above him. In the end Thor, and Hulk fight, but Thor makes him realize that he isn’t the person hulk believes he is. Thor always has the best interest of Hulk, and wouldn’t leave In the last movie Thor goes away for 5 years after half the world gets erased, and no one hears from him. Hulk who now isn’t angry anymore, at the world, and did not fall into the wrong place is the one who comes and gets Thor back. Hulk convinces him there is a lot to fight for, and good times ahead, and that he missed the old days. This relates to me, and my friend’s friendship because there were times where he was still there, and I needed to show that our bond would never be broken.

In the end my friend, and I are still best friends. It wouldn’t have ever happened if not for me signing up for boy scouts back in 2011. We are coming up on a decade of being friends, and hopefully, many more dumb ones to come. Just like Thor, and Hulk, we will always win.
