Senior year is a year of an unlimited amount of stress. It’s time to buckle down, focus and do well in school. It’s the last year of high school, right before it is time to jump into the next chapter of our lives. Big decisions have to be made at the beginning of the year for most students. Things to look forward to at the beginning of senior year is college, work and airforce/ military. Some seniors just don’t decide to go to college or do anything, or maybe they just decide late in the year. Seniors have a lof of work to do before moving on to the next step.
There are certain classes that have to be taken throughout high school. In order for kids to graduate, you need a certain amount of credits. If those credits aren’t done, walking at graduation isn’t an option. The biggest class of them all for senior year is Senior project.
Senior project is a class taken either first or second semester of senior year. Most kids like to take it first semester to get it done and out of the way. I took it first semester which was very difficult to do because that wasn’t the only thing that needed to be done. I had college essays, other class work and had to write a very long paper for senior project. To do all that at one time, on top of creating a presentation and products wasn’t all that easy. I would have to say I am thankful all the stress and hard-work from senior project is over and I passed the class, on top of that, I got accepted into college.
The stress didn’t stop there. The other class that is a must every year is English. The beginning of the year I hardly got homework, then comes second semester. I started getting hammered with a ton of English work, with a lot of other class work. Some seniors only take 2 classes because they took all their other classes that were needed to graduate, before senior year. Classes that are required for graduating is senior project, english, financial literacy and a government course. All of those besides senior project and english can be taken junior year if people want to get a head start. Other classes people take is math so it will look good for colleges to see. Trying to keep grades up could be challenging for a lot of kids. Another thing high school kids may have to do is get a job. Working, getting good grades, and playing sports could be overwhelming on anyone. Working isn’t for everyone, but for the people that do work, it can be hard trying to get hours and do homework, on top of playing a sport or two. Along with all that, trying to keep a social life can be very difficult because it seems like there is never enough time.
It seems as though time starts going by faster after second semester hits. Graduation is only weeks away and it doesn’t feel real for a lot of us. There isn’t much time to get everything in and pass classes before April break. Everything happens so fast and before we all know it, graduation happens and all of a sudden, we are like freshman in life again.

I really enjoyed this post because you touched base on every stress a senior encounters. Between grades, work, sports, and a social life there is barely any time for anything else. At times everything can be difficult to balance, but at this point it seems unreal that we all did it and got to where we are. Nice post!
Senior year can be either your best year of high school or your worst. I agree with Kayla you pointed out every stress that a senior deals with. It can just be so difficult but you know in the end all of that hard work will pay off when graduating.
