My mother will often tell my younger brother and I that “patience is a virtue” , this usually gets said when we bug her excessive about a certain topic or something that we want. A little bit ago I had tragically lost my hamster Toast. This was the second hamster that I had gotten that had died suddenly, I had done all my research and did everything I could do for them but the place they were before did not care for them correctly which made it hard for them to transition into my home.
With this all happening my mom said it would be best to take a break from getting hamsters and look into getting something else. As disappointed as I was, being a lover of hamsters and most rodents, I took my moms word into account and started doing some digging into other pets my parents would be ok with me getting. During this time of research I had to be patient and understanding of my parents saying no to certain animals and also take in the consideration of the cost and time it would take for certain animals.
After weeks of looking into different animals I knew some people who had a crested gecko. I had seen them and thought they were cute and very interesting, So I did some more digging and researching and stumbles across a Leopard gecko, I intently fell in love with them. Their little faces and the way they smile, I knew right off that this was the new pet that I would want to get. I talked to my mom and dad and they both agreed on this animal, and even said I could get two, due to the fact that they are a social bread of gecko!

I was ecstatic, but then came up the point in time where I really needed to be patient. My birthday is coming up and I am turning 18, my parents want to do something special for me so they said they would get me the supplies I would need and the geckos . That was said a month ago. It is now February and I am being forced to be patient due to the fact that my birthday is in April and my parents obviously need the money before they can get anything. Understandingly April is only two months away but the patience it takes to wait for something you desperately want is very painstaking. but due to circumstances it is important that I be patient because at the end of the day, I will eventually get my soon to be geckos.
