Patience During Hard Times

Having patience can be very hard. Especially when you’re just having one of those days where everything is going wrong for you. I know that I definitely struggle with being patient sometimes when something frustrates me, but it’s important to stay patient. A good example of patience that is important to me, is a situation with me and my Dad. My Mom just recently moved to Alaska a couple weeks ago for travel nursing, so that has been pretty hard for me to deal with. School has been a bit more difficult since she moved because that’s all I have on my mind lately, so I’ve been falling behind in some of my classes.

My Dad has always cared about how I’m doing in school so usually when I would fall behind he couldn’t help but be a little frustrated with me. Now that this is going on and it’s affecting my mental state, my dad has learned to be more patient with me, and knows I’m trying my best. My Mom moved during the end of my soccer season about a month ago, maybe a little longer, but it impacted me a lot when it first happened. My coach and my team had a lot of patience with me during that time because they knew what was going on. When they could tell I was feeling down about the situation and didn’t want to do anything, they were still patient with me and helped me get through it by making me do things to keep my mind off it. I’m very happy the people around me stayed patient during this time and knew how it affected me. I already felt bad when I would get asked to do something and I would never end up doing it because of the way I felt, but luckily they understood. For school, I still feel like there are a million other things to do but my Dad has really helped with staying patient with me and is still helping me through it.

In conclusion, my Dad and everyone around me being understanding during this situation with my Mom and staying very patient with me, has really helped me stay less stressed about everything. Imagine being stressed out and feel like you have the world on your shoulders and then on top of it, everyone is inpatient with you and always on your case. How would you feel?
