Call or Text

Calling or texting are great ways to get ahold of other people, whether for emergencies, business or even just calling a friend or family member.

Calling can be good for all sorts of things such as emergencies, business or even just calling a buddy. Calling is better for emergencies such as 911 because if you call they will understand the urgency of the matter at hand, so there will be less confusion and the response will be instant. If I was outside with my mom working in the yard and she fell to the ground, I would call 911 instead of texting the 911 number so the response would be quicker.

Business calls are important because they translate the interest level you have in the topic, It can also be a way to make sure the person understands what you are explaining to them. When calling a friend or family member it all depends on what you’re contacting them for, to make plans you should text, if saying that you are on your way you can text them, it is an easy way to pass the message along without the other person needing to answer. If they are busy it gives them a chance to answer when they have a moment. If you are asking about something important you need to know such as do I have to pick up friends from school, you should call them.

Texting is a great way to transfer information if you don’t have the time to make a phone call or if you are in a place that does not allow you to make a phone call. Texting is not ideal for sharing emergencies with people because it can cause confusion, or be misunderstood. The only time texting is good for business is to answer simple questions or to give specific details like time and date, so they can just look at the text if they forget. Texting a friend or family member is a great way to contact them; if are busy they can always text you back when they have a moment. An example of the advantages of texting a friend to see if they want to hang out after work is it gives them the opportunity to get back to you on their break. This shows that texting is less disruptive to a person when they are working.
