Aspirations of Alovering24

Alovering24’s icon is simple, the first thing you see is an EMT symbol in the center and the background has a squiggle with blue and red in the background but the thing that caught my attention the most was the EMT symbol. When questioned about the color they said “Blue and red ‘cause it’s the colors of medical symbols and things like sirens” They said that the squiggle through the middle was so they could separate the background and add color without it looking too lazy. The symbol in the middle which is the symbol of EMTs specifically represents their life goal to be an emergency medical technician.
The difference between Alovering24’s and my approaches to creating our icons is pretty cut and dry, I had put way too much effort into my icon. It took me a few hours to make sure all of my intentions correlated with the symbols for little payoff. Still, I did want to show myself in a symbolic way, Alovering24 went with a different approach, using literal symbols and colors. When Alovering24 was creating her icon she admitted she ”threw it together in about five minutes” which is fair enough but it didn’t let me learn much about her besides her aspiration, it wasnt even colored in so I had to think harder and make assumptions in order to try and understand her more.
I think is she is straightforward, using literal figures to represent literal wants, Alovering probably values directness and honesty for the sake of convenience which also matches with their method of creating the icon where they threw it together in order to get baseline ideas through in a moment, this can also be tied to their aspiration. One thing I learned about emergency workers is that they do what they need to do to get the job done, the types of people in the medical field that are usually found on ambulances provide quick and lifesaving medical attention on the spot until the injured party can get to a hospital. I think ALovering24 made the icon quickly and gave me the information they wanted me to know so I could do my job and later polished it for completion’s sake, even if she hadn’t polished it I would have had the information she wanted to give me so I could do my job.
When I can’t rack a book open I judge it by its cover, I use my imagination to make up what’s inside, after all, I only get what I am given. Alovering24’s Icon is simple, direct, and says what it wants to say plus some given one squints and is willing to assume things about a person which is risky, and there is a saying about assuming, ‘it makes an A** (out of) U & Me’. I just hope I learned enough not to be an A**.
