Graffiti, is it a form of art or vandalism?

Vandalism is an act of deliberate destruction, Graffiti is known as a deliberate choice on someones property.

Graffiti can be seen as art by many people, but as property owners and business owners, it can be vandalism in many ways. Many properties that have vandalism have to pay money from their pockets to have it removed. Places that have a lot of graffiti tend to have a lot of crime related action around its business. Graffiti costs, towns and States, millions and billions of dollars to remove. Almost any place you travel too will have graffiti. Instead of artists encouraging those who graffiti to pait on canvases and other resources they acknowledge and bring popularity towards it. Graffiti is an act of Vandalism because it is intentional and processed.

Graffiti is known for crime and vandalism. Many are trying to stop them.

Trying to decrease the amount of graffiti by stores making the age 18 and older to buy spray paint. Many properties take action in what they do to prevent graffiti “paints have been developed that basically cause graffiti paint to dissolve when applied”(Dolan ). A coat of paint on a wall will make the spray paint dissolve when applied. Many places have their spray paint locked away and you have to receive help to get some. Locking paint away resolves in not being robbed. Many large influencers have seen graffiti in large places and has gained great reorganization and have been shown in art galleries. Many people are trying to decrease Vandalism by hiring community teams to get rid of the graffiti.

Graffiti can be expressed in many different ways, Not by vandalism.

Encouraging graffiti artist to participate in art classes and make their graffiti meaningful and in more productive ways by painting on canvases or on walls that should have art on them. Instead of disregarding graffiti artist make jobs for them and earn money for their “art” in places that should have it. Spread awareness that their art won’t be noticed by being painted on a wall. No famous artist painting was recognized from being on a wall. Despite being recognized more they should reach for opportunities to paint for galleries and famous people, instead of vandalizing property.

Graffiti brings vandalism and bad reputation for many areas.

Graffiti can represent bad symbols such as gangs, protest, politics, Many things, people don’t want to see on businesses. It can attract violence and illegal activity. Many people try to steal spray paint and markers so they can go and graffiti properties. Graffiti brings a look of trashy and can lead to littering and loitering. Graffiti taggers are around the ages (15-25), Some are concerned of it to be “gateway tagging” and could lead to other illegal activities such as drugs and alcohol, gang related activities, more vandalism.

Graffiti is getting the wrong recognization and influencers are helping.

Graffiti is getting more reorganization as art by bigger art influencers. More property owners, business owners, and communities see graffiti as vandalism. Vandalism is a act of deliberate destruction on a private or public property. It takes time and money out of someones life to have to remove graffiti. Bad reputations can spread easily with a lot of graffiti. Graffiti is mostly done on public properties such as train tracks, building walls, trains, bridges, etc, which is all public and private properties. Therefore graffiti is basically vandalism because it is intentional and they know what they want to write and where they want to write it.
