The Tune of the Theater

The avatar of Mmurphy25 is a bold and abstract view of the mind of its author. The image perfectly depicts the emotions and ambitions that are represented by it. Viewers attention is automatically stolen by the symbolism of a theater mask and a bass clef, leaving the question of what do they mean?

Secondly the lines of varying warm colors hide behind the symbolism. When Mmurphy25 created his avatar what created his decision to use such colors? When asked about the purpose of the Theater mask Mmurphy25 stated, “Theater is a big part of my life and taught me skills that I have used throughout my life” (Mmurphy25). Mmurphy25 sees the theater mask when visualizing his passion for the Theatrical arts. Even further proving his artistic side the bass clef representing his talent on the trombone.

The colors chosen by Mmurphy25 all represent vast things all important to him. The red represents the importance of health to him, when asked “Being through a transplant made me more aware of the importance of my health” (Mmurphy25). Mmurphy25 alludes to a past of health crisis allowing him to discover just how important health is. Orange on the other hand was used to represent handwork, effort, specifically to his liking towards welding and precision machinery. When asked about welding Mmurphy25 had this response, “When I weld stuff tends to light on fire”.

Mmurphy25’s process of creating his avatar seems to be deeply rooted in his ambition. One of his main ways to incorporate his ideas in his image was by use of symbolism in such by the mask and clef. This is very similar to the process I used in the creation of mine, but the creativity in his is nothing compared to mine. One of the major differences between processes and interpretation being how Mmurphy25’s avatar is more clear cut and less left to guess with the use of his known symbols.
