Graceful wings: The Beauty of Tan Birds

Dleonard25’s avatar is green and black with a jagged line down the middle going slightly to the right. The left side is green and the right side is black. The green side has 4 tan birds around each other and one of them is larger than the others. The right side is just an area of all black.

The tan birds on the left side grabbed my attention first because they stick out from the rest of the avatar and seem to be the main focus. When I asked Dleonard25 if the number of birds meant anything he told me that they didn’t really and he just likes birds a lot and thought it would look nice in his avatar. He ended up making their avatar by drawing and coloring it with colored pencils.

The colors they used represented their favorite color combination that they enjoy enough to even incorporate to their clothing. The line down the middle represents the interest in shapes that Dleonard25 has, “I like lines and shapes,” this is a simple nod to the beauty of abstract shapes. (Dleonard25) The fact that the avatar is very simple is a reflection of their life and how they like to live. “Simple is sometimes better,” this is very interesting because it can apply to a lot of a person’s life and how sometimes living in more relaxed ways can be better. (Dleonard25) And lastly the birds represent energy and support because he likes to live as someone with a lot of energy and enjoys supporting people just like birds do. “I wanted a group of birds and they filled the space just right,” the birds really do make the avatar flow together and it gives it a interesting twist. (Dleonard25)

The difference between Dleonard25 and me with our avatars is that I used different colors other than the colors black and green which we both used in different ways. We both also created ours differently, I did mine digitally and he drew his himself. We both also had things related to birds in ours. Dleonard25 like to add more simplicity to his avatar, and most of the symbols were easy to look at and understand. For me I liked to make it symmetrical and had very different colors to represent how sometimes I feel very different about myself and my outlook on life. Both of our avatars are very different but also very meaningful.
