Make the Trip, and Get To Know Fstlaurent

Many families like to travel, like my partner Fstlaurent. He goes on family vacations often. I asked where he went on his last vacation. He told me that they, “went to Florida.” (Fstlaurent). Which is a great family vacation spot. He represents his like for traveling and family vacations in his avatar. He uses the element of a plane that he placed on the left side. Along with a plane there is also a sun in the top right corner. Their logo has a sun on it. Lastly the background is blue. In the final picture it looks like a plane flying through a sunny sky. 

Out of all the elements, the one that grabs my attention is the sun. It’s a bright color, and it contrasts from the color blue he uses. So, my eyes immediately go to it.  He could have easily just drawn the shape of a sun in black, and left it like that. However, he chose to color it yellow, which rounds out his avatar well. I asked if he made the sun yellow on purpose, but he did it “just cause.” (Fstlaurent). He didn’t use yellow because it had a specific purpose, other than suns are typically colored yellow. Though it was still a good choice. 

Fstlaurent wanted to create an avatar that represents him. So to start, he included the element of a plane. The plane represents that his family goes on a lot of family vacations. The next element he included is a sun. The sun represents the airline they always fly, Allegiant Air. The airline’s logo has a sun symbol on it. The last element is the color blue. To others blue is just a color. To Fstlauren, “blue is my favorite color.” (Fstlaurent). Blue being his favorite color is convenient, since the background is meant to be a sky. So, it ties everything together nicely. Even though the whole picture represents the plane flying in the sky. Each part has its own meaning.

While my partner’s avatar was more family based, mine was was based on what makes me myself. Most of his symbols represent his family, and what they do together. For example the plane and the sun. Both elements representing his family vacations, and the airline they always take. All of my symbols represent things that I love. For example, a book and a rose. The book representing my love for reading. The rose representing my love for the middle name my mom gave. A rose also being my favorite flower. However, something we both have is a blue background. Another element we both included was our favorite color. Fstlaurent favorite color is blue, and mine is red. Though we incorporated them in different ways. Fstlaurent made used blue for his background. While I used red for my roses.
