The Pros and the Cons

Social Media can cause both good and bad for our society. You can talk to anyone you need to at any point and time, you have unlimited access to information, and you can use it to your advantage. It can sometimes be bad though. As good as it is to spread and see good information, it’s just as easy to see/spread the bad. It can sometimes lead to bad things.

Social media is good for many reasons. Being able to have the power to communicate with anyone whenever you want can be very helpful. It’s the fastest and easiest way to stay in touch with others. Without it, you may miss out on things that your family or friends are going through or posting. It’s important to stay in touch with the people you love, and social media makes that easier. Social media also allows you to have control over news and information whenever you need it. If you want to know any information about anything you can most likely find it by using social media and the internet. Using social media for your own advantages is great. Say you are starting your own business, you can use social media to spread that. It is a great way to advertise things. You can also make a living just posting on social media. It is easy to post videos and make a profit over people just watching them. This is why having social media is a great benefit for us. 

Sometimes, social media isn’t all good things though.

Just as much as you see the good information, you see the bad. Many people use social media to take out their anger with their own lives by cyber bullying. Cyber bullying can be very harmful to a person’s mental health, especially when they haven’t done anything wrong. Social media can also lead to anxiety and depression. It’s also an easy way for people to spread misinformation. These negative outlooks on social media may overrule the good for some people. You always have to be careful when using social media because of these reasons.

My opinion on social media is that it has its benefits and its downfalls. It’s an amazing way to get information about any topic I need to know. I can also find out any news I need to in just a few seconds. I also love to use social media as a way to stay connected with friends and family. Having a family that lives farther away,  it’s great to be able to communicate with them through one app. With college coming up, all of my friends are going to be going their separate ways. It’s going to be great to have a way to stay in touch. I have definitely seen people cyber bullying others online. The negativity makes me want to stay away, but for me the positivity I can get from it makes me stay.

Social Media has many positive things from it. Using it for a job, being able to stay connected, and having unlimited information is great. The negativity can be bad sometimes. There are many cyberbullies and misinformation on it. It really depends if you play it safe when using social media. These are all the reasons I think social media can cause both good and bad for our society.
