There are more advantages of calling than texting because calling you immediate feedback. The reason there are more advantages of calling over texting is that when you call someone you get feedback right from the person and you can hear their tone versus if you text someone you have to guess their tone reaction. Another advantage of calling over text is that you can hear their voice so you know it is them responding and not one of their friends or family members responding to you. It is sometimes better to hear a voice because it is better for human interaction because when you text it could give the impression of not being a people person and being more aloof and away from people.
Texting does have its advantages just like calling. The advantages of texting are that you can see what the person says versus hearing and risking hearing the wrong thing during an important part of the conversation. Another advantage texting has is that you can go back and look at what was said in case you don’t remember the conversation, or whenever you have a workgroup chat you can send files and PDFs to each other that others might need to complete their work. Texting is also useful because if the person who gets the text is busy they can respond on their own time which at times can also be the biggest flaw or downfall in the field of communication.
The difference between personal texting or calling and work calling for me is professionalism. When I receive a work call or text I’m more professional than I am when a friend or family member calls me. A prime example of this is when I just recently did an interview over the phone I had to be professional because I want the job. When I had to call my boss I had to be professional over the phone because it was a work call. A time I wasn’t professional was last night when my friend called me I wasn’t professional because I didn’t feel required to unlike how I felt when I did my over-the-phone interview and a partial background check for the job I wanted.
In conclusion, both texting and calling have their advantages but There are more advantages of calling than texting because calling you to get immediate feedback unlike texting where you are less likely to get immediate feedback. Like I had stated in the earlier paragraphs both are viable ways to communicate for different reasons some professional and some unprofessional. Both have a unique effect on whoever you sending a text to or calling because when you call or text it could give a different impression on a friend or your employer when talking or texting them.
