Ring or Ding

To call or to text, texting involves you typing, or for you to look at your screen, calling on the other hand doesn’t involve you paying attention to what is on the screen and often can be done when doing another task. There are different benefits for texting or calling, but there are also come risks with each of these. Texting and driving is very unsafe, that is why calling should be done when you are on the roads. Texting a short response back doesn’t need a phone call, and that it would just be much simpler to respond in a text. Is a phone call better than texting? I think that it is and here’s why.

To text you must use your hands to type, which can cause a risk when on the roads. Not everyone that sends a text is driving, however, their are other dangers to texting to. Text does not show emotion as well as you voice and tone do. for if you send a text, someone could text it the wrong way and it could end up in a mess. Texting is hard to do when multi-tasking, and making a phone call is just simply easier to do when you are doing other things as well, because it is hands-free. On the topic of hands-free, there is a feature where you can use talk text, which is hands-free texting where you talk into your phone to send a message. I do like this feature and I think it was a great development in technology, but let’s be honest, talk texting is practically calling because you are using your voice to send a message just like a phone call. For me, I would have to choose calling over texting because I think that it takes less time, is more efficient, can hear emotions, its hands-free, and it can be done effortlessly.

Distracted driving is a big issue in the world today and I think that a lot of that is because of texting. If more people used phone calls on the roads, it would be a lot safer, this is my number 1 reason why I think that calling is a lot better than texting. even though people text when they aren’t driving, a majority of the population are drivers, meaning that phone calls and texts are being sent throughout the day, when driving. Also, to add to this, phone calls ring and a struggle I have is answering text because I do not hear it, Phone calls always get my attention because of the ringer. Even though texting is inevitable, I think that Phone calls are much more efficient.
