Hip Hop

Hip hop is a genre that sounds like a little bit of rap mixed with a little bit of r&b. It’s not all about the lyrics. The music and lyrics are equal parts of the song created. If there was a person interested in trying out hip hop music I would recommend starting with artists like Akon, J Cole, Rihanna and Chris brown. These artists can all be put under this genre but can also be compared to a couple others so they would be good starters.

For someone who already likes hip hop or wants to dig a little bit deeper I would look at ASAP Rocky, Juicy J, Beyonce and Pharrell Williams. These artists can be looked at under other genres also, but not as many as the other artists mentioned. These are good examples for someone who has already been into hip hop but they are also not super hip hop so they would be good for a person who wants to dip their toes in a little bit further.

If someone wanted to look at artists that are pure hip hop and can not really be compared to other genres I’d say Snoop Dogg, Notorious Big, LL Cool J and Kid Ink are some really good artist. These artists are pretty much strictly hip hop but are really good at what they do which is the reason why they can be considered underneath this category.

I liked your take on this genre of music, and how you explained it was well written. I disagree with you a little bit though on one or two of the artists you chose to say could be considered Hip Hop Artists. I would have taken Rihanna out of the mix, and maybe Beyonce as well. I think they are both more of Pop artists and they both could even fit with R&B for a few of their songs. I do agree with the other artists though, and think that they were great examples to use in your post!
