Steps to getting a Haircut in a Salon:
First when you go in you can talk to the stylist and figure out what you want for a hair cut and what you want it to look like and also you can talk about if you want to get it styled at the end of you session or not. It is all up to you, and know one else.
Step 1: The Hairstylist will put a gown around you to protect your cloths from the hair that will be falling from the cut.
Step 2: The Hairstylist will bring you back into the wash room, where they Shampoo and Condition your hair so it is wet and clean.
Step 3: The Hairstylist will bring you back to the chair where you will be getting your haircut.
Step 4: The Hairstylist will start by brushing the knots out of your hair so it is all even so you will get a perfect cut.
Step 5: After brushing out your hair The Hairstylist will separate your hair into different sections, so they will be able to cut your hair and this makes it easier to make it even.
Step 6: Now The Hairstylist will begin to cut your hair.
Step 7: After your hair is fully cut, they will ask if you want it styled.
Step 8: If you pick to get it styled then they will start by blow drying your hair to it is nice and dry.
Step 9: Now after drying, The Hairstylist will ask you what you want your hair to be styled like. She will do whatever you say.
Step 10: Your Done!

When getting a hair cut why do they have to wash your hair? Why is better to cut your hair when it’s wet if your hair looks a bit longer when it’s wet….?
You said that they wash your hair but that is optional because they do ask how recent the person has washed their hair and if it was recent enough then they just use a squirt bottle with water in it.
Yes @Ahiggins15 it is an option, but to me this is the best way to get your hair cut, this was based off what the steps were if I was getting the Hair cut.
@Acry15 when you go in and get your hair cut I think that it is better to get your hair washed because when your hair is wet you get a better and more straight hair trim. It is just and extra step to make sure your hair is as even and it can be.
Just curious not because I need a haircut, but AGiandrea what styles does a hairstylist offer, is it personal preference or do you ask them to do a style?
Nick you can get whatever you want really, you can talked to them and tell them what you want or you can even have them do what they think will look best on you.
That was interesting, I have some questions though. Why don’t they just style your hair right after it’s washed instead of cutting it to make it even and then styling it? Is that a requirement or is that optional? Also, do you also have to have your hair dry before styling it? (Because I’ve gotten my hair styled while it was wet before) Is that bad?
