Fallout 4 is a game where time in reality becomes nonexistent. Fallout is the definition of addicting. The game is about the aftermath of a nuclear war. It has been about 200 years since the war and you were frozen the whole time deep underground in a cryogenic lab. You wake up to your wife being murdered and your son stolen. Finding your son in the barren wasteland of this post apocalyptic world is the goal.
Story wise, the game is almost flawless. The want and need to survive and find your son makes you feel as if you are in the game. When you talk to other characters in the game, you always have 4 different options of how you can reply to them. Being able to choose what your character says helps put the player emotionally into the game. The player can use your charismatic abilities to try to persuade the computers to like or hate him/her, or give better prices on a product. Dialog is not the only thing that makes the game so addictive though.
Fallout has a building factor to it. The game is fueled by the idea of collecting “junk”, scrapping the junk for raw materials, and rebuilding societies. As the main character you rebuild communities throughout the commonwealth where the game takes place. Recycling the junk into useful items for the people moving to your communities is of the utmost importance. Beds, houses, shops, farms, water purifiers, and defences are just some of the things that can be built out of recycled junk to help make the communities strong and civilized.
The graphics are a huge factor in what make the game so real. Quality wise the graphics are almost flawless(for a game that is). All the characters look as human as they possibly could by a computer generated source. The game even has the water in an eye show up depending on where the lighting is. Shadows and gravity are also included in this game. There is gore that can be pretty gruesome at times, but it can be shut off in the options menu.
Fallout 4 is by far one of the best games ever created. It combines the will to survive with the drive to be a leader. Countless hours can easily be poured into this game without realizing it. Even though the game starts off slow and is not as fast paced as other first person shooters like Call of Duty, it makes up for it with content and overall gameplay. Fallout 4 is a must play for any gamer.
