Video Game Review

Grand Theft Auto V

This is a game set in modern day featuring 3 main character with troubled pasts that work together in heists.  Two of the characters Michael, and Trevor worked together in their younger days causing mischief until one of their friends loses his ability to walk, and Michael is pronounced dead during a bank heist, but we all know that’s false.  Michael is a middle aged man who is very wealthy.  He is trying to live the happy life, but his life seems to be falling apart because his wife is cheating on him with a yoga instructor, and his son is nothing but a lazy, spoiled kid who plays video games all day.  Franklin is a black man that grew up on the streets watching and doing many bad things, but as he gets older he just wants to live life happily without worrying about money.  Trevor is a drunk, living in a trailer dealing drugs until he gets the idea to return to his life of crime.  Together these three give a compelling storyline, and great action.  This game is based in san andreas, liberty City, And Vinewood, almost like every past GTA game.  This game has amazing realistic graphics, and an amazing open world.  I strongly urge anyone to play!

Saints Row 4

This is an open world Game that’s very similar to The GTA series in the sense that you can steal any vehicle, use any weapon, and do anything you want.  this game is based in modern day.  Your Character is an ex member of the Saints, a special forces team, but now he/she is sitting in the white house.  He or she is the U.S president.  During presidency an alien invasion upon Earth starts.  Soon Later he wakes up thinking the entire invasion was a dream when he realizes everything around him is too perfect.  With The Help of his friend Kinzie he escapes what was an alien simulation similar to the matrix.  Going back into the simulation he knows what he’s doing and slowly unlocks powers like, flying, telekinesis, super speed, and more to destroy the aliens from the inside.  This is a great game, but just a warning, every other Saints Row game is basically the same map and gameplay, just different features, storyline, and weapons!

Deadpool

This A game based on the character not as much the storyline.  This is about a marvel Character Deadpool which was a character that became popular quick.  This character is a mercenary who has the ability to regenerate health, and teleport.  He is also very skilled in all things combat, including swords and guns.  Deadpool always breaks the fourth wall by talking to the person controlling him, occasionally reading his script for the game in front of the player, or even playing his game on the TV.  This game is everything is seems, and comic fan or not, this game is a hell of a good time.

Portal Series

This series is about a woman named Chell whom is locked inside the  Aperture Science complex, and is forced to solve puzzles using a portal gun to escape.  After each yes she(you) must go to an elevator which takes you to the next level.  Each level is harder than the last and they get pretty tricky.  This game is very fun, but it takes patients because when on a higher level you may die a lot , and repeat the process until the puzzle is solved.  I just recently got one of these games, and i’m hooked.

Arkham Series

This is a series based on the character batman crusading around different areas stopping crime and beating the crap out of criminals.  This series seems to stick with the comics and to give an amazing storyline and action in the process.  This game series features an amazing slow motion fighting feature pared with an very large open world map.  Grappling hook from building to building fighting criminals and using all of the famous batman gadgets.  Every game seems to get better in this series, and I can’t wait until the next one.

Just Cause 2

This is a game with not much of a story line, but plenty of heart popping fun.  Although this is completely unrealistic and a little dumb, if you like open world games, you will love this.  Travel anywhere, steal any car, fight anyone, and destroy anything.  in addition to guns and a whip, your character has a grappling hook to pull them from any distance, and a parachute that can reopen anytime you see fit.  Earn points from destroying major things like statues and cellphone towers, and hope you don’t get armies looking for you.  This game is amazing if you enjoy causing mischief, and traveling through an open world.
