The show Gilmore Girls starts off in a small town called Stars Hollow, with Lorelai and her daughter Rory eating at the local diner in town called “Luke’s”. Which actually looks like a really cute diner because it use to be his dad’s tool shop but he transformed it into a restaurant.
Rory leaves to go to her school, and when her mom goes into work she realizes she received a letter from Chilton. Which is the school Rory wants to transfer to so she will become more liked by Hartford. Rory got accepted into Chilton, which that would be an amazing feeling because Chilton is a competitive school.
Lorelai had Rory at a young age so she never graduated, and that is why she is suffering with money. The tuition for Chilton is very expensive and the only way she can pay for it is if she talks to her parents and asks for money, however she hasn’t talked to her parents in a long time because they don’t get along.
When Lorelai goes to her parents house they are excited Rory got into Chilton, and they offered to help pay for one condition. The condition is Lorelai and Rory have to start coming over one day a week for dinner, and they call it a “Friday night dinner”. Lorelai seems upset that she has to do that but who wouldn’t blame her, her parents still judge her for having a daughter at such a young age and she believes her parents are disappointed in her.
Rory ends up telling her mom that she doesn’t want to go to Chilton because it’s too expensive, but Lorelai realizes there’s a different reason for her not wanting to go to Chilton. She believes Rory has a crush on one of the boys in her school, and turns out she’s right. However I find it stupid to give up an amazing educational experience for a boy. Lorelai forces Rory to go to Chilton, and I believe I would probably do the same thing if my child was picking boys over education.
When Rory and Lorelai go to the Friday night dinner, they seem very uncomfortable. Lorelai’s father brings up Rory’s dad and they both become uncomfortable, and they leave the dinner upset. However they stop at Luke’s diner and get dinner. Which I’m kind of jealous because his food looks really good.
This show is a really great show, I would recommend it to anyone looking for something to watch. It’s a good family show, and is very appropriate.
