Yes, I’m Into Lifting

When I was 13 turning 14 years old during my Freshman year of high school, I was a super short, skinny kid, who was just weighing 95 pounds soaking wet. I realized how much I was passionate about sports, and during this year I got a whole new passion, and that passion was lifting. It all started when I had a talk with my parents about me going into high school and if I wanted to be able to play the sports I love, then I was going to have to start getting bigger, and put on size. This is why it has become my passion. Not only did I need to put on size I just love physical activities in general. So I have a weight room in my basement, and there’s a weight room at my school. I was way too weak to even lift the 45 pound bar down at the weight room when I had first started lifting, so I started lifting at my house with my dad every morning at 5 AM. He pushed me every morning to show me how to work the muscles, and teach me what he knows about lifting. I would always try to up my weight when he upped his weight, it was like I was competing with him but again I was not. We both would just use each other as motivators, and try to better ourselves.

So after lifting with my dad for 3 months straight, I was then strong enough, and confident enough to take what I knew, and head down to the actual weight room to continue getting better workouts, and achieve more goals. In the weight room I would really appreciate having a big bodybuilder like Mr. Wright, because you just look at him and you see his dedication for lifting, he gets up at 4 AM  just to lift everyday and again after school. And even throughout his day, you see him eating good quality foods, and throughout his classes you see him teaching about muscles, and the human body, and what it needs in order to perform at it’s highest levels. Seeing him do this really motivated me, and has changed my lifestyle, from everything that he has told me. I now eat like him for my body type, and workout everyday at 5AM.

He really helped to bring me to my interest. Because I thought I was always just going to be that skinny kid who plays sports, but doesn’t get anywhere because of being skinny, and lacking height. I somewhat second guessed myself at first thinking that I will never be big enough to at least be able to hold my own. The only question I had for my own interest and passion was that if I worked out and kept working out, how good would I look? Or how big would I be? Or be able to get? I found it really difficult at first to increase the amount of calories I eat in order to become bigger, and put on size for the amount of sports, and stuff I do throughout the day. But I tried super hard each and everyday I always push myself and my hard work is paying off. I am the starting Varsity Point Guard for the basketball team, and I’m one of the most “jacked” kids in the school due to my hard work. I now currently weigh 135 pounds, I have put on 40 pounds of lean muscle since my freshman year. I will never forget the support and the help I had from teachers, friends, and family. And my passion for lifting will never fade. It will always be part of my healthy lifestyle.
