In the ted talk "The Need for family reunification - to make families whole again" by Elizabeth Zion, she talks about how she gets separated from her father. He is in Nigeria and herself, mother and her brother are in Ireland and he's been trying to reunite with his family but he's getting denied. In the story Flowers in the Sky by Lynn Joseph Nina the main character , is nicknamed  the flower girl who adapts to New York and grows to like living there. Even though she does miss her home town on an island. Both the Ted Talk and the book are connected because they both get separated from their families. "For months , my family and I were homeless. Finding in Ireland is difficult enough already" (Zion). “I did not believe her , but Mami was so insistent that i was going to a better in New York that i just bent my head and tried not to cry as the green coconut tree with their feathered caps flew past the bus window" (Joseph, 20).

Has your character moved out of their country and if so how did they feel about it?

in my book the Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao its about a kid from the Dominican who moved to New Jersey. Throughout the book, Oscar finds himself trying to find love but fails many times. Oscar sees himself as an outsider, who dreams of becoming a writer and is more on the nerdy side of people. Oscar struggles with lack of social skills and being able to find friends. during the book, oscar doesn't seem to like moving to a new country. he often disconnects from other people and doesn't fit in with the typical American teenager. one specific moment were he shows he doesn't like the move to America, is when he starts to feel like he cant even connect with his own culture anymore, "Oscar, who had always been obsessed with the Dominican Republic, found in his new life an aching sense of exile, as though he were a stranger in his own country" (Diaz 58) this shows how Oscar really feels about moving to a new country.

In my book Out of Nowhere by Maria Padian takes the perspective of Tom Bouchard, he is a high school senior who lives in Lewiston Maine with his family. His life is changed when his best friend Yusuf, who is a Somali-American boy, becomes involved in a controversy with a terrorist attack. As Tom experiences his own feelings of confusion and loyalty, he learns about the challenges that refugees face by being immigrants and the struggles of finding a place in a community that may not fully accept them. The novel explores the intersections of race, religion, and prejudice in the eyes of a boy in the modern world who is dealing with issues of terrorism and integration.  In my book the main character Tom hasnt moved out of his country but many other people that he interacts with have. Yusuf is talking to Tom bout how he had to leave his country and he says, “‘I didn’t ask for any of this. I didn’t ask to leave everything I knew’” (Padian chapter 23). This exemplifies how he feels about having to move away from his country and how he didnt want to leave but he was forced to.
