In the Ted Talk titled Don't feel sorry for refugees-believe in them Luma Mufleh writes about her and her people's past about how uneasy and how unfairly they were treated after having to be moved to this country. Elizabeth had seen many deaths and tragedies. She also dealt with misfortune, she had stated "In the past I was able to assure my students. Now I am not able to assure my students." Tom in Out of Nowhere dealt with a problem of fitting in, he is not from Maine or the United States, so our culture and our very very slim diversity makes it even more difficult for him to fit in. "Hey. I said quietly, You alright?" (Madian 42). This small interaction between two people is a sign of respect, but also will help a relationship in the future.
