the act of treating others or a group differently mainly in a harsh way because of things like race, age, sex or etc.

I believe that discrimination means to exclude other people by their race, size, gender, etc. Excluding can lead to treating another poorly.

To me, discrimination is judging/putting someone down based on skin color/race/facial features, hair color, etc.

I believe that discrimination is not liking someone or singling them out just because of things they can't control such as age, race and religion.

But you can control religion. You can still discriminate against someone of a different religion, even if it is something you can control. I think that discrimination isn't just about things you can't control, but also about things you can't control. If you were to see someone wearing an outfit you think is too promiscuous, or too dark, ect. and didn't like them because of it, would that still be discrimination? Or would it be something different? And you can discriminate against a entire race of people, so would that really be singling someone out?

Discrimination is the judgement of other groups of people that can keep them from opportunities and equality.

Hey, I wonder if when you wrote this you meant to use a different word than "Other" I understand what you are saying and I agree with you but I think if we took that away completely it can still give an example of discrimination. Some people who read this could assume the word other as discrimitory itself.

Julie, I very much agree with what you are saying to this comment. Using the words other groups in this sentence could very easily be assumed as discriminatory its self, instead of saying other you could have said " The judgment of people that can keep them from the opportunities and equality."

Thank you! I hadn't thought about it this way, I simply meant those different from one self (So judging someone for an aspect of themselves that you don't share) but now that I think about it, it's very true that people do discriminate against those for aspects that they have in common. Thank you for pointing this out

Discrimination is when some people with different skin cannot do some actions or they are isolated from others.

I agree with this statement, but discrimination isn't always just the color of your skin, It could be anywhere from your religion, your sex, your age anything.

I wonder if instead of saying "some people" you could say African Americans or colored people. I think that makes them seem more important than saying some because they are the same exact as white people.

I agree with this, but I wonder if you could put "are prevented by others from doing some actions" in place of "cannot do some actions".

I wonder if you could say hear about people as well. Some people judge based on a story or rumor they have heard about a certain religion or racial profile. And I think this is just as much discrimination as looking at someone and judging. But I agree with all your reasons for discrimination.

Discrimination is basically, in my opinion, seeing anyone different from you (be it race, skin color, or actions), and / / or immediately giving yourself the right to bully or chastise them for being who they are, without even knowing their story or background.

I wonder if instead of saying attacking you could say judging as well. Yes if you are discriminating against someone you could be attacking them, but a lot of the time it's judging from afar and talking behind someone's back about them.

Use a different word like disdain because that shows the victim is getting no respect from the verbal assaulter.  What are the people being "attacked" for, what are the reasons for them not being treated equal
